How RepBite AI handles your information.

1. Introduction

RepBite AI (“RepBite”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a health and nutrition tracking application developed by Ankur Bhagat (“Developer”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the RepBite mobile application and related services. By using RepBite, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — name, email address, phone number, profile details, and app preferences when you create or use an account.
  • Health and nutrition data — food logs, workout records, calorie tracking, weight, vitals, supplement logs, water intake, sleep data, menstrual cycle data (where you choose to use that feature), and other wellness information you choose to enter.
  • Food scan data — images captured via food label or photo scan features, processed to identify food items, portions, and nutrition information.
  • Health Connect data (Android) — with your explicit permission, fitness and health data read from Google Health Connect. See Section 6 for details.
  • Device information — device type, operating system, app version, and usage data for troubleshooting and improvement.
  • Payment information — subscription status managed via Google Play and RevenueCat; we do not store card or payment details directly.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize app features including food logging, nutrition tracking, AI briefs, and workout programs.
  • To process food images and generate AI-estimated nutrition information.
  • To improve RepBite's food database — food label data and AI-estimated nutrient information may be made available to other users as part of shared food search and logging features, without any personally identifiable information attached.
  • To send notifications relevant to your health goals (water reminders, weigh-in reminders) if you have enabled them.
  • To process subscription payments and manage access to premium features.
  • To troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and improve the app.

4. AI Processing

RepBite uses AI services including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude to process food images, generate nutrition estimates, weekly health briefs, and workout programs. Your inputs (including text and images you submit) may be sent to these services to generate responses. AI-generated content is for informational purposes only, is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and does not constitute medical advice. RepBite is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

5. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We may share data with trusted service providers solely to operate RepBite, including Firebase (Google) for database and authentication, RevenueCat and Google Play for subscription management, Anthropic and Google for AI processing, and Vercel for website hosting.
  • Food items you scan or add may be added to the shared RepBite food database and made searchable by other users, without any personally identifiable information attached.
  • We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
  • We do not use your health, fitness, or wellness data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it or share it with data brokers. See Section 6 for our Health Connect commitments.

6. Google Health Connect (Android)

On Android devices, RepBite can read certain health and fitness data from Google Health Connect, but only after you grant explicit permission through the Health Connect permission screen. We request access only to the data types needed for the features described below, and we do not request broader access than necessary.

Data types we may read and how we use them:

  • Steps and active energy (calories) burned — to calculate your daily activity, adjust your calorie and macronutrient targets, and display activity on your dashboard.
  • Heart rate — to display in your health dashboard and inform activity and recovery insights.
  • Sleep — to display sleep data and inform your weekly briefs and wellness summaries.
  • Weight — to track progress against your goals and personalize calorie calculations.
  • Blood pressure — to display and track your vitals in the health section.
  • Oxygen saturation (SpO2) — to display and track your vitals in the health section.

You can review, manage, or revoke RepBite's access to Health Connect data at any time through the Health Connect settings on your device. Revoking access does not delete data you have already logged in RepBite; you can request deletion of that data as described in Section 10.

Limited Use commitment.

RepBite's access to, and use of, information received from Health Connect adheres to the Google Play Health Apps and Health Connect policies, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We do not use Health Connect data for advertising or marketing.
  • We do not sell Health Connect data, and we do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
  • We do not use Health Connect data to determine insurance eligibility, employment suitability, credit-worthiness, or for lending purposes.
  • We use Health Connect data only to provide the user-facing features described above, and we limit access to the minimum data types necessary.

7. International Data Transfers

RepBite operates from India. Some of our service providers (including AI processing and cloud infrastructure providers such as Google and Anthropic) may store or process your information on servers located outside India. Where your information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. By using RepBite, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information as described here.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission, Firebase security rules, and authenticated API access. However, no digital service can guarantee complete security.

10. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or update your profile information within the app.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data. You can do this without reinstalling or opening the app by visiting repbiteai.com/delete-account, or by emailing us at support@repbiteai.com.
  • Withdraw consent for processing where processing is based on your consent.
  • Opt out of notifications via app settings or device settings.
  • Raise a grievance regarding the handling of your personal data with our Grievance Officer (see Section 14).

We will respond to requests within the timelines required by applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

RepBite is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@repbiteai.com.

12. Third-Party Services

RepBite integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase — database, authentication, cloud functions
  • Google Gemini — AI processing
  • Anthropic Claude — AI processing
  • RevenueCat — subscription management
  • Google Play — payment processing and subscriptions
  • Google Health Connect — health and fitness data (Android)
  • Vercel — website hosting

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of RepBite after changes means you accept the updated policy.
